Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes

On Day 1, we take you to Casablanca’s main attractions, including Hassan II Mosque and the old medina. Then we’ll hit the road for the nearby city of Rabat, the capital of Morocco. There are several historic landmarks to see there, such as the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower, and the Chellah. At the end of the afternoon, we’ll go Morocco’s cultural capital: Fes. We will spend the night there in a beautiful riad or hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Fes

Because there is so much to see here, Day 2 is dedicated to Fes. We will spend most of the day in the city’s ancient medina, “Fes el Bali.” Not only is it one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites, it also contains what is believed to be the oldest university in the world, the University of Al-Karaouine. We will spend the night in Fes and leave in the morning after breakfast.

Day 3: Fes – Merzouga Desert

Day 3 is a busy day. It is a long drive from Fes to Merzouga, but we’ll make several short 20-minute or so stops along the way. The first stop will be at Ifrane, also known as “the Switzerland of Morocco.” It is a very small town but so unique for its architecture and cold climate. The next stop is at Azrou’s cedar forest, famous for the presence of Barbary apes. If we’re lucky, the apes will be around, and you’ll have the chance to feed them by hand. We’ll also stop at Midelt and Errachidia. And we’ll pass by the gorgeous Ziz Valley on our way to see fossils in Erfoud. Our last stop will be at Rissani to do some shopping at the souk.

We’ll briefly stop at Sahara Desert Hotel for a cup of tea. Then we’ll cross the desert dunes of Erg Chebbi by camel to go to our camp. We will have a beautiful evening watching the desert sunset and enjoy Berber dinner and music by the campfire at our luxury camps.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert Todra Gorge Dadès Gorges

On day 4, we’ll wake up early in the morning to watch the desert sunrise. Then we’ll drive towards Tinghir to explore the nearby Todra Gorges, a narrow canyon famous among rock climbers. We’ll continue driving until we reach Dadès valley, where we will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Dadès Gorges – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

On day 5, we’ll explore the Valley of Roses, go sightseeing in Ouarzazate and explore the UNESCO kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou in a guided tour. We’ll finish our tour in Marrakech after crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Our driver will drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
